A high school teacher in Maryland went berserk and attacked a student who bumped into her in a classroom, setting off a “horrific” fight that was captured on video, police and school officials said.

Vivian Noirie, 36, was arrested Friday after the assault at Largo High School on an unidentified 17-year-old student, who appeared to knock into the teacher from behind in the middle of the packed classroom, according to footage obtained by WTTG.

Prince George’s County police said the student was upset that Noirie had contacted her parents the night before and confronted her, stepping on the teacher’s foot before bumping into her with her shoulder. That caused Noirie to erupt, sending the educator into a frenzy as she repeatedly hits the student from behind, video shows.

Noirie then violently throws the teen to the ground before kicking the girl several times, leading other students to break up the melee, according to the footage.

Once separated, the unidentified teen grabbed Noirie from the rear and repeatedly hit her again several times before the scuffle was broken up a second time , police said.

Noirie was charged with child abuse and second-degree assault in the incident. Detectives are also pursuing charges against the student, police said.

Monica Goldson, CEO of Prince George’s County Public Schools, told WRC-TV she was “extremely disappointed by the horrific actions” since in the footage.

“It’s important to know that we have set high expectations and standards for our staff and students, and what you saw in that video does not represent the hard work that 10,000 teachers do every day,” Goldson said.

Neither Noirie nor the student required medical attention after the fight, police said.

The disturbing brawl took place one week after a high school teacher in Texas was caught on camera viciously attacking a special-needs student at Lehman High School in Kyle.

Tiffani Shadell Lankford, 32, was charged with aggravated assault in the Nov. 8 attack, which has left the teen too terrified to return to the classroom, according to a report.

Lankford, who was charged after footage of the assault went viral, can be seen punching the teen before pulling her away from a desk and stomping on her head.

If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison.

KYLE, Texas — Tiffani Lankford, a former substitute teacher in Hays CISD, was sentenced to 10 years of probation for assaulting a Lehman High School student in 2019.
The Hays County District Attorney’s Office said Lankford pled guilty to aggravated assault by a public servant July and was sentenced on Sept. 10.

She was arrested in Nov. 2019 after video emerged showing the assault. The teenage girl involved was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

"We are shocked and disgusted after seeing the abuse and excessive force used in this teacher's attempt to discipline a special needs child. There is no excuse for this type of behavior,” the family’s attorney said in 2019. “ All parents, myself included, should be deeply disturbed by the facts surrounding this abuse. When we drop our children off at school, we expect that teachers and administrators will keep them safe, not place them in an environment of violent behavior.”
The school principal also released a statement following the assault.
“Under no circumstance is that behavior tolerated at Lehman High School or in Hays CISD,” said Lehman Principal Karen Zuniga. “We take the safety and security of our students seriously. We took swift action when this incident occurred and will do everything necessary to protect our students.”

Lankford was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, complete 350 hours of community service, pay a monthly $60 supervision fee and undergo psychological or drug/alcohol abuse evaluation with counseling and treatment.
