A western Pennsylvania couple who were shot at a suburban Pittsburgh mall are suing the mall's owners, claiming they ignored warnings about increased violence and gang activity.

Seventeen-year-old Tarod Thornhill, of Penn Hills, is accused of shooting three people in Macy's at the Monroeville Mall about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh on Feb. 7.

Forty-nine-year-old Tom Singleton and his 48-year-old wife, Mary Grace, were among the victims. They're suing CBL and Associates Properties, which owns Monroeville Mall, and Macy's Retail Holdings.

The Murrysville couple says the company failed to provide adequate security, including cameras, despite warnings about rising crime in Monroeville. The suit says CBL had been "repeatedly placed on notice" prior to the shooting.

The companies say they don't comment on litigation.
