Mother Defies Carjackers for Teenage Son

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A mother went toe to toe with four alleged criminals, all to save her son.

Barbara Renfrow said the men beat and tried to carjack her near the Plaza on Wednesday night, but she wouldn't give them the car, because her 17-year-old son was asleep in the front seat.

Renfrow exclusively told KCTV5 News, "He said he was going to shoot me. And I said, 'Shoot me, because I'm not giving you the keys.' He punched me in the face and knocked me down."

Her son, Duncan, said, "If there's anyone who's a hero, it's my mom."

Luckily, a passerby screamed and the suspects took off running.

Marshon Kimball, Ronnelle Thomas, Alvino Crawford and Gary Robinson are all facing robbery and assault charges.
