A Texas high school algebra teacher called off her wedding after she was arrested last month for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old student — who apparently started the fling by inviting her to steamy Snapchat sessions.

Alaina Ferguson, 23, of Plano, was released from jail in lieu of $100,000 bond after being booked on charges of sexually assaulting the boy, according to Fox 4. Ferguson was also ordered to wear an electronic monitoring device and deactivate all social media accounts.

The alleged relationship began at the beginning of the school year when the Plano Senior High student wrote his Snapchat handle on a test and gave it to Ferguson, according to an arrest warrant obtained by The Post.

Shortly after speaking on the app, Ferguson met up with the teen in Lewisville, where they reportedly had sex on a park bench.

Ferguson is accused of sending the boy nude selfies, plying him with alcohol and having sex with him in her fiancé’s apartment while he was out of town on a hunting trip just two weeks after their initial encounter.

They went on to have sex at the apartment on several more occasions and also played beer pong and ate pizza, according to CBS.

Ferguson — who quit her job in October after just two months of working at the school — allegedly last had sex with the teen in November in the back of the teen’s pickup truck after a football game.

Ferguson told the victim that she knew their relationship was “not the right thing to do, but it felt right of the time,” according the arrest warrant.

She also told him that she was going to break off her engagement because she “didn’t feel anything” with her fiancé.

“I heard the kid was just talking about it to his friends and I guess a teacher or a student overheard it,” senior Andy Flores told CBS of how officials found out about the affair.

“She’s kind of good-looking … so she’s attractive,” Flores added.

High school senior Samuel Balderrama believes the school’s hiring practices may have led to the incident.

“It’s just more young teachers than older teachers,” he said.

The Houston middle school teacher who got pregnant by her 13-year-old boy student has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Alexandria Vera was hoping for probation, according to The AP, but State District Judge Michael McSpadden is using his decision to make an example out of the teacher, claiming he’s seen too many similar cases like this.

“We want our educators to teach our students,” McSpadden said in court, MySanAntonio.com reported. “We want them to keep their hands off the students.”

The 24-year-old taught English in north Houston’s Stovall Middle School, where she met the student in 2015. One day in 2016, the male student skipped class and Instagram messaged Vera, asking her for her number to hang out just the two of them, KPRC Houston reported.

Vera, who has a 4-year-old daughter from a separate relationship, told investigators she drove to his house the next day — when his parents weren’t home — and had sex with him for the first time.

They continued the illicit relationship throughout the school year — having sex “on almost a daily basis” and students noticing the two flirting in between classes, according to court documents.

“He like grabbed her butt and everyone saw it,” one student told ABC. “And then they were talking about it.”

“That kid was always over (Vera’s house) and she always told (neighbors) it was her brother,” a neighbor told WFAA-ABC when news of the affair broke.

At the fall open house, Vera met his parents and was introduced as his girlfriend. By January, his parents became increasingly welcoming to Vera, who that month announced she was pregnant with the teen’s child.

Bizarrely, his parents had no problem with his relationship with Vera, who claimed they were “very supportive and excited” when they found out about the pregnancy. Vera told an investigator that she ended up getting an abortion after a child welfare investigator got in contact with her.

Last summer, when the former teacher turned herself in, she was booked on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child and released on $100,000 bail.

A jailed former English teacher admitted last week that losing sight of her “values” led her to having sex with three of her students — one of whom was a 16-year-old boy she defiled in a church parking lot.

But her mea culpa wasn’t enough to convince the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole, which on Tuesday ruled that Brianne Land Altice will have to spend at least two more years in the slammer.

Altice, 37, a former teacher at David High School in Kaysville, Utah, was sentenced in 2015 to two to 30 years in prison on three felony counts of forcible sex abuse. The board ordered her to attend a sex offender treatment program before her next hearing in April 2019.

The disgraced teacher told officials last week that her low self-esteem drove her to seek out the company of her students in 2015.

“I clearly lost sight of all my values and my principles and was seeking inappropriate means to address my own issues,” Altice said during the Jan. 24 parole hearing. “Issues I’m very aware of now,” Fox 13 reported.

Besides the 16-year-old, Altice had sex with a 17-year-old at his home, and another 17-year-old whom she met while she was out on bail and facing criminal charges for the other two, according to Board of Pardons and Parole vice chairman Robert Yeates.

A 42-year-old California woman has been arrested for allegedly having sex with three high school football players.

Mary Frances Fletcher, also known as Debbie Fletcher, was arrested Tuesday on charges of unlawful sexual intercourse after being accused of having sex with three players from the Mount Shasta High School football team after meeting them while working with a team photographer, Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey told The Post.

“It was kind of a chance encounter and she evidently developed a relationship with the boys at a later time,” Lopey said Thursday, adding that there’s no evidence the alleged sexual contact occurred on school grounds or involved school employees.

The investigation against Fletcher started with a complaint received from the Mount Shasta Police Department last September. Detectives then launched an investigation, which revealed the alleged offenses happened in unincorporated areas of the county several weeks before the initial report by school officials to the police department.

Fletcher, who was also charged with dissuading a victim or witness, made no statements affirming or denying the allegations during her arrest, said Lopey, adding that the case was one of the more “unusual” he’s encountered during his 39 years in law enforcement.

“We have small-knit communities here in Siskiyou County and we have good schools and pretty good kids, so it’s pretty unusual for students to be exploited like this,” Lopey told The Post. “This is a relatively rare offense that occurs. It’s very alarming, it’s something that’s very shocking to the senses and it certainly disturbs the entire community.”

Fletcher was released after posting $10,000 bail. Lopey said she had hired an attorney, but did not have additional information. She’s due back in court to be arraigned on March 22.

District Attorney Kirk Andrus told NBC5 that he’s trying to be sensitive to the victims in the case as the prosecution unfolds.

“I have spoken with some of the victims, and you know, these cases are always challenging,” Andrus said. “I mean, especially for a young person that are, by definition, not prepared for this kind of relationship. Relationship is probably the wrong word, but they’re not prepared for this kind of interaction with an adult.”

Andrus told KTVL that Fletcher could have been arrested at any time during the investigation if deputies felt they had probable cause, but deputies determined Fletcher wasn’t an immediate danger to the community.

A disgraced Upper East Side private school teacher convicted of bedding a 13-year-old student will be a level 2 sex offender, a Manhattan judge ruled Monday.

The designation means that a photo of the former Montessori headmistress Lina Sinha, 50, will appear next to her name on the sex offender registry online.

Justice Melissa Jackson denied the defense’s request to downgrade her status to a level-1 offender, the lowest risk designation, when she’s released from prison March 14.

“I am not entirely convinced that this individual will not offend again,” Jackson said, adding that she was concerned about “the deception and abuse of authority,” that Sinha used to carry out the illicit relationship.

Sinha had a nine-year affair with her teen victim who turned her in after he became a cop.

“After the victim reported this to the police, [Sinha] began a crusade to discredit this student’s reputation to hide her crimes,” prosecutor James Zaleta said.

Sinha’s attorney, Julia Busetti, said, “She really has made an impact on the community [in prison]. She has set herself up in the best way she can for her release.”

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that 26-year-old Christine Towers of Phoenixville pleaded guilty Monday in Chester County to institutional sexual assault and corruption of minors.

Prosecutors said Towers had a sexual relationship with a Conestoga High School teenager she privately tutored. She apologized in court and said she had "gravely" learned her lesson.

Officials said Towers worked as a paraeducator and coach at Conestoga from August 2014 until April 2016. District officials said she coached eighth-grade girls' soccer and seventh- and eighth-grade track at Tredyffrin/Easttown Middle School during the 2014-15 school year

Married Texas teacher Sarah Fowlkes couldn’t wipe the smile off her face for her mugshot after being accused of romping with a 17-year-old student, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Fowlkes, 26, was suspended from her job as an anatomy and physiology teacher at Lockhart High School after turning herself in to police Monday – hours after celebrating her birthday with her hubby.

The beaming blonde allegedly engaged in “sexual content with the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire” of the student, the Daily Star reported.

Detectives launched the investigation on March 10 after getting a tip from a school administrator. The probe led them to the boy, who had been in touch with Fowlkes, cops said.

“Their contact was of a sexual nature,” police said.

“Lockhart parents entrust their children to us every day, and it is something we do not take lightly,” schools superintendent Susan Bohn said in a statement.

“Student safety is the district’s most important priority. As soon as we learned of the report, we acted swiftly to involve law enforcement and CPS to conduct a thorough investigation,” she added.

Fowlkes, who has been married since 2013, began working at Lockhart High in September, according to her page on the school’s website.

“I have very high expectations of myself as a teacher as well as of my students and I hope that this will be a formula for achievement,” Fowlkes wrote on the site, according to The Sun. Her name has since been removed from the site.

“I want this to be an enjoyable year for all of my students but also a productive, challenging and encouraging year with success for everyone,” she continued.

A Texas middle school teacher accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student is also pregnant.

Katherine Ruth Harper, 27, was arrested last week after a three-month investigation into her alleged sexual relationship with a former student. The pair met when she was his tennis coach and teacher at Tidwell Middle School in Roanoke, Texas.

Police said the seventh grade teacher and teen exchanged nude photos and had sex multiple times. They would also often reportedly drink alcohol when they would meet up at each other’s homes.

Harper is eight-months pregnant, but an arrest affidavit doesn’t state whether the 15-year-old is the baby’s father, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

School administrators received an anonymous tip in September about the relationship and notified authorities, news station KDAF reported.

The student reportedly confessed to his high school principal about the affair.

“One thing led to another and she told me to ‘put it in’ and I did,” the teen said, according to the police warrant.

Harper was charged with having an improper relationship between an educator and student. She was booked at Denton County jail and released after posting the $15,000 bail.

ONEONTA, Ala. — A former Blount County teacher has pleaded guilty to inappropriate sexual behavior with three different high school boys.

Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey says 30-year-old Ashley Parkins Pruitt was arrested in November 2014 and charged with sex crimes involving three of her former students.

Pruitt worked at Locust Fork High School from 2012 to 2014, and at Appalachian High School from 2014 to 2015.

Authorities say Pruitt sent explicit pictures of herself to a student who was under 18. Around that same time, she allegedly had sexual contact with two other students younger than 19.

Pruitt pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student and two counts of porn distribution to a minor.

Pruitt will serve one year in jail and two years under house arrest.

A Northeast Philadelphia special-education teacher who pleaded guilty to having sex with one of her students says she blames her actions on her heroin use.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Stephanie Amato was sentenced Tuesday to county prison for having sex with a 14-year-old student. She could spend 11 ½ to 23 months behind bars.

At sentencing, Amato, who taught eighth grade special education at Ethan Allen Elementary School, apologized to the student and said it never would have happened if she weren't using drugs.

In addition to jail time, the 33-year-old will also have to register as a sex offender after pleading guilty to having a sexual relationship with a student, child endangerment and corruption of minors.

Amato is set to surrender for her sentence in July, court records say.

Fifty-year-old Kelly Aldinger of Pen Argyl was originally sentenced to three to 23 months in Northampton County jail after pleading guilty to institutional sexual assault.

She was sentenced Friday to 18 months to three years on a parole violation after authorities said she contacted the victim following her release.

Defense attorney Philip Lauer said Aldinger texted the teen "in essence just to see if he was OK."

A prosecutor said she was also troubled that the sexual encounters began when the teen was 15, not 16 as previously believed. The two were caught having sex at Easton Cemetery a year ago.

A married teacher was busted for allegedly raping a 16-year-old student as they carried on a romantic relationship, according to reports.

Lindsey Jarvis, 27, allegedly had sex with the underage boy when she worked as a social studies teacher at Woodford County Middle School in Kentucky, according to WKYT.

The victim told police that he slept with Jarvis, while his cellphone had evidence that he and the teacher were in a romantic relationship.

An indictment charges Jarvis with sodomizing the victim in May 2016 and having sex with him a month later.

Jarvis was arrested by Lexington police and pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape on Monday. She was also charged last week with rape, sodomy and unlawful transaction with a minor.

She most recently worked as a teacher’s aide at Veterans Park Elementary School and resigned last Friday — the same day she was arrested.

Jarvis had been employed at Woodford from August 2013 to June 2016.

“While we cannot comment on individual personnel issues, we can assure families and community members that we are aware of the matter. Our personnel protocols in a case like this would call for placing an employee on administrative leave pending resolution,” said Veterans Park school spokesperson Lisa Deffendall.

Police have not said which school the boy attended.

“It’s possible that the unlawful transactions happened to two separate counties,” Detective Steve Sparkman with the Versailles Police Department told WTVQ.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. –A high school special education teacher has allegedly admitted to having sex with one of her students, according to WFSB.

The Bridgeport teacher, identified as Laura Ramos, has been charged with second-degree sexual assault.

According to court paperwork, a student brought all of this to light, and Ramos denied having a relationship with a student at first, but then later changed her story.

The arrest warrant states that two weeks ago a student witness went to school officials saying Ramos started texting him first.

Court documents said “as a ‘normal teacher helping a student,’ but about a month to six weeks ago Mrs. Ramos began telling him about her personal problems.”

The documents went on to say “Ms. Ramos would complain that her ‘man’ or ‘guy’ does not want to have sex or do anything with her.”

The student witness told detectives while Ramos never used a name, he believed it was an 18-year-old special education student who is a junior at Central High School.

“Witness 1 noticed the victim would hang out in Ms. Ramos’ class and…would watch them make eyes at each other like flirting,” court documents said.

That witness let police take photos of his text messages with Ramos, in which the married mother allegedly asked about buying weed for her and her man, along with sexually inappropriate content.

When first approached by detectives, Ramos said she was close with the student, and denied anything sexual took place.

But according to the warrant, Ramos admitted she talked with the teen about denying they were having a sexual relationship and deleted all her texts saying she was scared about the investigation.

When detectives told her they would issue a warrant for her cell phone, she allegedly said: “You’re not going to be happy with what you find on my phone.”

Police say Ramos then consented to a second interview, in which she told police she and the teen started flirting in December, before it turned physical, and having sex “a handful of times” in her car, the last time in April.

Ramos was placed on leave by the school district. She had submitted a letter of resignation on June 20, but the school district had already initiated termination proceedings, according to school officials.

“Please be assured that the safety and welfare of our students is our main priority at Bridgeport Public Schools, and we make every effort to ensure the ongoing safety of our students. We take seriously all allegations of inappropriate conduct which threatens the well-being of our students, and such misconduct will not be tolerated,” school officials said in a press release.

She is due in court next week.

A married high-school health teacher in Maine is under investigation for allegedly having sex with her 17-year-old student, according to local reports.

Jill Lamontagne, 29, was placed on administrative leave in mid-June when the boy’s family notified the school that he’d had a sexual relationship with her.

On Monday, a district court judge extended a protection from abuse order granted two days after the student’s attempted suicide earlier this year. The order prohibits the Kennebunk High School teacher from having any contact with the alleged victim for two years, according to the Portland Press Herald.

Details of the relationship between the mother of two and her student were disclosed in the protection-order form filled out by the alleged victim’s mother, according to the Journal Tribune of York County.

The teen boy was admitted to the emergency room on June 9 after taking a cocktail of drugs. Days later, he told a nurse he had tried to kill himself “because of a girl,” before admitting to his aunt that rumors about the relationship with the teacher were true.

“He said he loved her, he said it happened numerous times, in the classroom, at her house, in her car,” the boy’s mother wrote in the complaint. “She told him she hadn’t had a sexual relationship in two years.”

According to the complaint, the student said he felt “used” by his teacher but wanted to continue the relationship.

A lawyer representing Lamontaigne in court Monday denied the allegations, according to local station WCSH-TV.

Lamontaigne has worked at the school for five years and is the lead health teacher. She is also an alum of the high school, according to a 2013 profile of her in the school’s student paper.

Katie Hawes, Superintendent of Regional School Unit 21, told local station WCHS-TV that the school is working with the appropriate agencies “to ensure the safety of our students and our staff.”

Hawes also said the district would consider terminating Lamontaigne if she is charged, the Journal Tribune reported.

A high school Spanish teacher who left school to have sex with a teen student and film it was sentenced to three years in jail, according to local reports.

Ekatherine Pappas, 25, pleaded guilty to three counts of misdemeanor fourth-degree sex offense last month and was sentenced in a Baltimore court Monday, though the judge suspended all but a year and a day of her sentence, the Baltimore Sun reported. The state dropped additional felony counts.

Police investigated after a sexually explicit video of Pappas and the 16-year-old made its way around the school in January.

“I cannot begin to explain the terror of being notified that my son had been sexually abused and it was on videotape that had been circulated throughout the school for others to see,” the victim’s father said in a statement to the court, adding that his son had not returned to school afterward.

The teacher traveled to Bogota, Colombia, in January on the same day police issued a warrant for her arrest. A Baltimore County police official told local TV station WBAL that investigators were not sure if the teacher’s trip had been previously planned.

She was arrested at Dulles International Airport upon her return a week later.

The student told police investigators that his teacher had asked him to cut class on two occasions, then took him to his house and sexually assaulted him , filming them on one occasion.

Pappas is a graduate of Loyola University and had been teaching at the high school for only a month.

Upon her release, she will spend five years on enhanced probation and will have to register as a sex offender for 15 years.

The boy’s father said his son and family have been affected “in devastating and profound ways.”

“As a young man, this entire ordeal has been extremely confusing for him , just as it would be for any victim that is exposed to sexual activity before they are at a level of maturity,” he said in his statement. “Our home is no longer viewed as a safe environment, since it is the location where the assault took place.”

A former Georgia orchestra teacher on Friday admitted in court that she engaged in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, but at one point shifted at least some of the blame on the pupil.

Therese Gunn, the 54-year-old former teacher at South Gwinnett High School, told the court that she was sorry but that the student was “like a used car salesman,” The Atlanta Journal-Consitution reported.

Gunn entered the guilty plea and was sentenced to 90 days in prison, despite her lawyer’s push for house arrest. She will be on probation for 10 years.

“I don’t find that you’re the kind of person that needs to be warehoused for years,” Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge Warren Davis reportedly said. “We get those cases and we get them out of society as long as we can. You’re not one of those. But you clearly betrayed the trust that you had of parents, this parent, putting this child in your care.”

Under Georgia law, any sexual contact between someone with a supervisory role is illegal, even if the encounter is consensual, the report said. The student in this case told the court that Gunn “made [his] adolescence a living hell.”

Gunn is the fourth teacher from Gwinnett who has been arrested on sex-related charges stemming from the 2015-16 school year, the paper said. She resigned in 2016.

The Gwinnett Daily Post, citing the police report, said the relationship began in March 2016 and spanned less than two months. Some of the sexual activity occurred at the school and at Gunn’s home, the report said.

A detective learned that Gunn hosted a party at her home and allowed the 17-year-old and two female students to some marijuana, the report said. She reportedly joined them.

Jim Wall, Gunn’s attorney, reportedly requested house arrest for his client.

“She regrets very much the pain she caused to the victim and his family as well as her own family and friends,” he said.

A former Connecticut special education teacher accused of having sex with her 18-year-old student because she wasn’t getting any action at home, slept with at least three other pupils, police said.

Laura Ramos, 31, a married mother of a young child, was placed on administrative leave at Central High School in Bridgeport amid allegations of having sex with the 18-year-old.

She surrendered to police Wednesday after being told there was a warrant for her arrest for allegedly having sex with a second student in a Shelton restaurant, the New Haven Register reported.

The Milford woman was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and released on $50,000 bond.

Police said they have information about at least two additional victims, the paper reported.

“My client voluntarily surrendered to police and we are awaiting the paperwork indicating the basis for the new charges,” said Ramos’ lawyer, Edward Gavin. “Laura Ramos continues to maintain her innocence and we look forward to the progression of the case.”

Ramos resigned after her first arrest and has been awaiting trial on a charge of second-degree sexual assault.

Unlike her first arraignment, when she and her husband held hands while she waited for her case to be called, this time Ramos sat alone at the Golden Hill Street courtroom.

Superior Court Judge William Holden issued Ramos an order barring her from contacting her alleged victims. He continued the case to Aug. 14.

After her first arrest, Ramos admitted having sex with the 18-year-old special ed student “a handful of times,” beginning Dec. 23, 2016, until April 2017.

She said most of the time they had sex in her car.

A second special education student admitted on June 23 that he had also had sex with Ramos, police said.

He said in he had gone with Ramos to a Fairfield restaurant and that after dinner, the two had sex in Ramos’ car in the parking lot, police said.

On another occasion in April, Ramos complained to the student that her husband didn’t want to have sex with her and then took him to a Shelton eatery.

While there, Ramos and her student went into the restaurant’s “electrical room,” where they had sex, police said.

The student told police he later received a text from Ramos saying it was the best sex she had ever had.

Melissa Bonkoski of Stowe, Pennsylvania was arrested and charged with three counts of institutional sex assault as well as other offenses after she allegedly sexually assaulted a student on December 1, 2015.

Bonkoski taught Earth Science at Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown. While officials say her victim is a student, they did not reveal whether the victim attends Owen J. Roberts or if the assault took place at the school.

Bonkoski was arrested Thursday but is currently free on $80,000 bail according to court documents. Her preliminary hearing is set for August 17. She also resigned from her teaching position at Owen J. Roberts.

AKRON, Ohio - A former Ohio high school teacher is accused of engaging in a three-year sexual affair with a teenage boy she met when she was his eighth grade English teacher.

Laura Lynn Cross, 36, was indicted on three counts of sexual battery over a period beginning on August 1, 2013 through September 6, 2016. She was a Buchtel High School teacher.

The teen's father says he first raised concerns to both a Buchtel High School official and Tallmadge Police as early as 2012 when his son was a freshman--but no charges were filed.

Cross resigned her teaching position in January, 2015.

"First of all, she's a schoolteacher," said the teen's father. "To get aroused by a child basically you have to be a sick individual."

Even more disturbing, Cross convinced the teen's mother--who had custody--to allow the teen to move in with her in her Tallmadge home through a court approved "partial parental custody" arrangement.

Cross convinced the teen's mother that she could continue to "mentor" him.

Charges were filed only last week after police learned that Cross and the teen had a child together in 2015 that was kept secret until a tipster called the teen's father and broke the news.

An Akron School System spokesperson said the district was unaware of the case until a Cleveland-based WEWS investigation alerted them but said it is now "doing our own internal investigation going back to 2012 to determine what exactly happened and when it happened"

"It was a straight failure from the system," said the teen's father. "From the school and definitely from the police."

Cross is currently being held in the Summit County Jail under $100,000 bond.

A former middle school gym teacher was arrested Monday for a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Monday.

Shawnetta D. Reece, 40, of Blairsville, was sexually involved with the student in 2013, the agency said in a news release.

Reece was arrested after the Union County Sheriff’s Office received information on the alleged relationship, and asked the GBI to assist with the investigation.

“The student was moving from the 8th grade into the 9th grade during this time,” the news release stated. “As a result of the investigation, Reece has been arrested for child molestation and sexual assault by persons with supervisory or disciplinary authority.”

Officials said once the investigation is completed, the case will be presented to the Enotah Judicial Circuit district attorney for prosecution.
