FLINT, Mich. - A former teacher in Michigan has been convicted of having sex with a 12-year-old boy whom she met at a Flint elementary school.

A jury found Allanah Benton-Wells guilty Tuesday of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. She faces at least 25 years in prison.

The 43-year-old Benton-Wells had denied the allegations. Defense lawyer Steven Freeman did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Authorities say Benton-Wells had sex with the boy in 2007, when she was tutoring him outside school hours. The boy's parents reported their suspicions to Williams Elementary School in Flint, where she was a teacher.

Benton-Wells, who was fired from the school last year, will be sentenced Feb. 11.

LONDONDERRY, N.H. (CBS) ― A high school teacher in New Hampshire is free on $10,000 bail, accused of emailing naked photos of herself to a student.

Melinda Dennehy, 41, of Hampstead is charged with one felony count of indecent exposure.

Police say she sent four nude pictures of herself to one of her 15-year-old students at Londonderry High School, where she teaches English.

He then allegedly forwarded them to his friends.

According to police documents, the pictures were sent two months ago.

Authorities learned this week that the photos were being passed around school. Police obtained a copy of one of the pictures and co-workers identified Dennehy in it.

The teen told authorities that Dennehy had "continuously sent him text messages," some of which were sexually explicit.

He also claimed that she "kissed him twice on two separate occasions" in a classroom at school.

Dennehy turned herself in to Londonderry police Friday.

The woman also allegedly offered several times have to have sex with the student, according to The Boston Globe.

She was ordered to stay away from anyone under 16.

She has been placed on administrative leave with pay and is not allowed on school property.

Police do not know of any other victims.

Dennehy will be arraigned in Derry District Court April 30.

BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- A Burbank middle school teacher accused of having sex with a teenage male student over a six-month period last year appeared in court Wednesday, but her arraignment was postponed until March 25.

Amy Beck, 33, is charged with four counts of unlawful sex with a person under 16 and one count of oral copulation with a person under 16. If convicted, she faces up to seven years in state prison.

Investigators allege Beck, a teacher at David Starr Jordan Middle School, was having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old male student from March to September 2009. The unidentified boy was 15 when the alleged affair ended.

Police said Beck is married with children. Her husband is an LAPD officer based out of the Southeast Division.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Allegations of sex between a student and a faculty member of a Fulton County high school are under investigation, Channel 2’s Tom Regan reported.

The Fulton County school system told Regan it became aware of the allegations at West Lake High School just days ago, and school police are now investigating the matter.

The names of those involved have not been released, Regan reported.

A school official said she could not provide any more details because it was a personnel matter. However, sources tell Regan the faculty member is a woman and the student a 16-year-old boy.

Parents who Regan spoke with said they had no knowledge of an investigation but had plenty of opinions.

"Your leaders are the people you trust your kids to,”�� said parent Charlene Leach. “You can't have that happen. I just hope that's not true."

“It caught me off guard,”�� said parent Joe Gasten.

One student told Regan news of a possible relationship has circulated among the student body.

LAS VEGAS -- A teacher has been arrested on six counts of sexual misconduct with a student.

Jennifer Gardel was booked in the Clark County Detention Center on Wednesday. She is listed as part of the instructional staff at Las Vegas High School for the 2009-2010 school year.

Thirty-year-old Gardel is facing six counts of sexual misconduct. She teaches Spanish classes.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Thirty-year-old teacher Erin Baynard Stewart appeared in court Thursday, formally charged for allegedly having sexual relations with a 14-year-old male student.

According to police, Stewart, a teacher at Chauncey Rose Middle School in Terre Haute, carried on a sexual relationship with the boy since December 2009.

They said she admitted to having sexual intercourse and performing oral sex on him.

Stewart is now charged with two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, both felonies. Charges she pleaded not guilty to Thursday.

If convicted, she faces up to 40 years in prison.

Bond is currently set at $75,000 with no 10 percent which she posted Thursday afternoon.

Trial in this case is scheduled for October.

UNION COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - An assistant softball coach has been charged for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student at a high school in Union County.

Heather Winchester, who was not employed with Union County Schools, has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a female student.

Winchester served as a coach for the women's softball team at Weddington High School.

According to the Union County sheriff, Winchester and the student were involved in a consensual sexual relationship. The student used to be a member of the team.

Winchester was terminated by the school system on May 6th.

A school district spokeswoman said Winchester had been an assistant softball coach at the school since March of 2010. She received a $800 stipend and was a volunteer coach.

Before she ever started working with the students, a formal background check was conducted on Winchester. There was nothing in Winchester's background check to prevent her from working with the team as a coach, the school spokeswoman said.

Winchester was officially charged at the Union County Jail and released on a $5,000 bond Monday afternoon.

FRANKFORD, N.J. -- A former teacher has been charged with having sexual relations with a middle school student, officials announced Wednesday.

24-year-old Linsday Massaro allegedly had sex with the underage boy on two separate occasions, once in her car and another in the bedroom of her Frankford home, according to Sussex County Prosecutor David Weaver.

Massaro, who was arrested in March 2009 after an investigation, reportedly met and befriended the teen while she worked as an eighth-grade student teacher at Frankford Elementary School.

An affidavit revealed that Massaro admitted to having consensual sex with the boy.

An investigation was launched into the ex-teacher and student's relationship after the boy's father alerted police.

The disgraced educator was indicted Thursday on charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, third-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and four-degree criminal sexual contact.

She faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

TAMPA, FL -- Hillsborough County deputies have arrested an assistant principal and charged her with sending a topless photo of herself to a 14-year-old Manatee County boy.

Lauren Tilo, 29, was arrested Thursday morning at her home at 9805 Lombard Court in Tampa.

She was charged with Transmission of Harmful Materials to a Minor and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.

According to a statement from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, the boy told investigators on Wednesday that Tilo sent him, by way of cell phone text, "an inappropriate photo of her in a provacative and sexual pose."

The boy, according to the statement, told detectives that he met Tilo online in February playing World of Warcraft, a popular computer game. He said they became friends and "advised each other of their age."

At this point, detectives do not believe Tilo and the boy ever met in person.

Tilo bonded out of jail on a $10,000 bond Thursday afternoon. Hillsborough County School spokesperson Linda Cobbe said Tilo was placed on paid suspension.

Investigators are trying to determine if Tilo may have had inappropriate contact with any other students.

A former Garden City High School teacher charged with criminal sexual conduct was in court Friday morning on charges of violating a no-contact order.

Virginia Ann Homberg, 45, of Saline, was accused in March of having sexual conduct with a male student from 2007 to 2009.

The court violation was based on telephone contact Homberg had with another student at Garden City High School since her last court date.

Prosecutors said this is the second time Homberg was found in violation of the court's no-contact order.

The first violation of her bond occurred April 19, following her preliminary examination. At the time, Homberg was found in violation of her bond for having telephone and text message contact with a student at the school.

As a result of the violations, a judge increased the bond from $50,000 to $100,000 cash or surety.

Homberg was taken into custody following Friday's hearing.

Homberg resigned from her teaching position in March and was arraigned at the 21st District Court on two charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two third-degree counts of criminal sexual conduct and distributing sexually explicit visual material to a minor.

Investigators said the student was 14 years old when the affair began.

A teacher at a special needs school in Cleveland County has resigned over allegations of sexual abuse involving a student.

Cleveland County Schools spokeswoman Donna Carpenter tells WBTV the teacher, Nicole Chapman, resigned Monday.

The school system has turned its investigation over to Shelby Police.

Reportedly, Chapman was arrested on two felony counts of indecent liberties with a student and two felony counts of a sex offense with a 19-year-old student. [this nigger might graduate by the time he is 30]

It is alleged that Chapman had a sexual relationship with a 19-year-old student from North Shelby School.

After Chapman appeared before a magistrate who set her bond at $75,000, Chapman challenged reporters to go talk to the 19-year-old male student and his mother. She said they will tell you there was nothing happening.

Reportedly the student’s mother told at least one reporter that she approves of the relationship.

The mother was quoted as saying:

“I’m trying to explain to everybody he’s not a victim.”��

Chapman says that the only reason she was in trouble was because she is white and the student is black.

Shelby Police Chief Jeff Ledford said any physical relationship between a teacher and a student, no matter what the age, is a crime.

Chapman resigned from the school on Monday.

Reportedly, when police picked up Nichole Chapman yesterday she was at the home of the alleged victim.

Before leaving with police, Chapman alleged kissed the student goodbye.

During booking, Chapman requested that the mother of the alleged victim be listed as her nearest relative.

Nichole Chapman’s husband, who said he’s been separated from Chapman for a month, said they have three daughters.

Bond for Chapman is set at $75,000 and one of the conditions of bond is no contact with the alleged victim.

BRANDON, Miss. -- Former teacher Sheral Smith has pleaded guilty to four counts of statutory rape, Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest said.

Smith, 39, was arrested in 2008 and is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy, who was a friend of her son. Prosecutors said Smith had sex with the boy at least four times in Rankin County. Three of the encounters took place at Smith's home, including one in her son's bedroom, prosecutors said.

Smith was to stand trial on Tuesday. A competency hearing was held Monday for Smith, who was ordered last year by the court to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and has spent the past seven months at the Mississippi State Hospital at Whitfield, Guest said. While testifying during the hearing, Smith acted confused, had trouble recalling what year it was and said she couldn’t remember the victim, Guest said. A psychiatrist who had treated Smith testified that she was putting on an act and a judge ruled that Smith was competent to stand trial.

After the hearing, Smith’s attorney called the district attorney’s office and requested a plea agreement, Guest said. During the plea agreement hearing, Smith’s entire demeanor changed, Guest said. He described her as having a clear understanding of the proceedings and as being in control of herself.

“You could tell she had a much different mental state than she had (Monday) morning, which indicated to the state that she was faking any kind of mental illness,”�� Guest said.

As part of the plea agreement, Smith was sentenced to 20 years on each of the four counts, which are to run concurrently. She will have to serve seven years of the sentence, and 13 years were suspended on each count. After she is released, Smith will be on probation for five years and will be required to register as a sex offender, Guest said.

Smith is also charged with one count of sexual battery and one count of statutory rape in Hinds County. Guest said Monday’s plea agreement will not affect the Hinds County charge.

Smith worked at New Summit School in Jackson, but she was fired shortly after her arrest in September 2008, school officials said.

A Summerville High School teacher was arrested after she allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with a 16-year student.​

SUMMERVILLE, SC -- A Summerville High School teacher was arrested after she allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with a 16-year student.

Summerville Police arrested 25-year old Sarah Renee Banner, of Summerville, and charged her with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to an incident report, the parents of the teenager approached Summerville Police investigators to tell them of alleged inappropriate conduct between Banner and their son. The report states that the 16-year old asked his guardian if they wanted to see a picture of a teacher that liked him. The guardian allegedly told the teen that teachers and pupils cannot be involved in relationships and dismissed the issue.

On June 1, the teen allegedly failed to return home as planned and upon his return, his guardian took his mobile phone away and found a picture message that had been sent from a number that was allegedly stored as Banner's, depicting a woman's private area. The guardian then says they went to address the issue with the teen and found the teen had left home. The guardian says they later observed him in Banner's car in the parking lot of Summerville High School.

Banner allegedly fled the scene when confronted by the guardians and a short time later they met up with the teen and a woman, whom was later identified as Banner and discovered the vehicle that Banner and the teen had allegedly been in.

According to the report, the teen did not wish to speak with police, but the guardians turned over the mobile phone where the alleged sexual misconduct was stored.

PERKINS TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - An investigation is underway after alleged sexual misconduct between a 35-year-old high school teacher and a teenage student in Perkins Township.

Police were notified by the superintendent and principal at Perkins High School after the teacher, April Seville, was busted making out with a 17-year-old in her classroom after school hours on June 2nd.

Through the course of the investigation, Seville and the student victim have admitted that the sexual relationship started sometime in 2009. After admissions from both, Seville was arrested and later taken to the Erie County Jail.

Seville has been charged with sexual battery.
