A Bolingbrook man who tried to meet and pay a Joliet woman for sex Sunday night was instead held up at gunpoint and robbed.

The 25-year-old victim showed up at a residence in the 1300 block of Parkside Drive in Bolingbrook about 10:45 p.m. after arranging to meet 18-year-old Chelsea S. Dean and pay her $85 for sex, according to police Lt. Michael Rompa.

Once inside, Jesus M. Simms, 21, of Bolingbrook, put a gun to the man's head, made him lie down and removed the cash that he brought with him for the encounter, Rompa said.

They then kicked the man out of the residence, according to Rompa.

Dean and Simms then called police and told officers that Dean's ex-boyfriend had entered the house, choked her and threatened her life before leaving, Rompa said.

Police tracked down the man, and it was eventually determined that the man had gone to the residence to meet with Dean through an advertisement before being robbed, according to Rompa.

Officers returned to the Parkside residence and eventually arrested Dean and Simms, he said.

fort-worth-robbers.jpg

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Police have arrested four men suspected of robbing 17 Fort Worth businesses in the past month.

According to police, the robberies started in on December 2 and ended on January 3, with the men hitting fast food chains like Subway and Sonic, and small technology businesses including GameStop and Metro PCS. On some days, the suspects hit more than one business per day.

Although four suspects were arrested, Nathaniel Jones, 22, Kevin Davis, 27, Ashton Parks, 20, and Brian Bernard Jackson, 20, police say all four did not participate in all of the robberies.

“They were all there for some of the robberies and on others, only two or three would participate,” said FWPD robbery Sgt. Joe Loughman.

Jones, Davis and Parks have been charged with the January 3 robbery of a Subway, located at 6316 Meadowbrook Drive.

Jackson is being held in connection with another robbery and is awaiting charges.

Police say the suspects showed at least one handgun during the robberies, which were later determined to be BB pistols. Prosecutors have charged the suspects with robbery, not aggravated robbery.

“We can’t convict of aggravated robbery if the ‘firearm’ turns out to be a toy or a BB gun,” Assistant District Attorney Kevin Rousseau said.

Jones and Davis were being held in the Tarrant County Jail, while Jackson and Parks were being held in the Mansfield Jail.

Adrienne Coleman

Woman Arrested In Daycare Robbery Says It’s A Big Misunderstanding by Melissa Moon
Vid takes a while to get to the heart of the matter, but it's worth watching.

(Memphis) A woman police tied to an armed robbery at a South Memphis Daycare says it’s all just one big misunderstanding.

Adrienne Coleman, who has been charged with being an accessory after the fact, says she had nothing to do with the robbery and can’t understand why she’s facing any charges.

Police say on December 20th Lavelle Woodall held up the owner of LeSuer Learning Center on Gleason and took an envelope containing $10,000 in cash and $3,000 in payroll checks.

Coleman was arrested nearly three weeks later after police say she cashed one of those stolen checks.

“They told me the check numbers on the check were reported stolen and by me attempting to cash the check they think I had something to do with the aggravated robbery and that’s not the case.” said Coleman.

Coleman who is an employee at LeSuer doesn’t deny cashing the check.

She says it was her paycheck and came right from her boss and the owner of the daycare.

“I was like that is my paycheck. I work for her. She may have mixed up the numbers,” said Coleman.

She says she doesn’t even know Lavelle Woodall and has never seen him before in her life. That's what they all say.

“I was employed by this lady for two and a half years and she’s putting these false charges on me when she know she game [sic]me that check. That’s my payroll check,” said Coleman.

Our calls to LeSuer Learning Center Friday were not returned.

Woodall has been charged with aggravated robbery.

Blind senior citizen robbed in his Pike County home by Brad Soroka
Vid at link

Pike County, MS -
A Pike County senior citizen is the victim of an attempted robbery inside his own home. It happened Monday in McComb near the Fernwood and Pleasant Grove Community.

We're protecting the man's identity to keep him safe, but we can tell you he is 86-years-old, he is blind, and he is currently battling cancer.

He agreed to reenact the robbery attempt that happened inside his house Monday. It started with a knock on the side door of his house. That's strange, he says, because most people use the front door.

The man thought he knew the people at the door, so he welcomed them in.

"They said we come to rob you!" the man explains. "Come to rob me?" he asked them. "I ain't got no money!"

That's not what the robbers wanted to hear. The man told them to search his house. He said they wouldn't find a dime. Instead, they pushed him to the ground. That's when one of the men mentioned a weapon.

"You ought to put a gun to his head," the man recalls them saying.

The man isn't sure if the gun was ever pointed at him, but on the ground, he did the only thing he could think to do.

"Hey!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. "Because I thought they were going to do more. They went out that door, and that was it."

His long-time pastor, Speady Ross, was heartbroken.

"He's a great, outstanding person in the community," says Pastor Ross. "Everybody reflects him. Everybody here knows him. Everybody has a part in taking care of him." A nigger worthy of reflect, knowha'm'say'n.:p

Folks who live in the Pleasant Grove area can't believe this happened so close to home.

"Probably somebody came from other towns that do stuff like that," says James Jefferson. "It ain't the people from this community, because we all get along, all play together, share together, eat together, and the people know us around here."

Despite being blind, battling cancer and scaring off two robbers, the man says he's doing well.

"God wasn't done yet taking care of me. I know that," he says.

The Pike County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Footprints in the snow:p led to the arrest of one of the men who allegedly pulled a gun on a Vito's Pizza and Subs deliveryman, robbed him, and then took off in his car last week.

According to the affidavit for probable cause, 19-year-old Larry D. Washington, Jr., and two other suspects robbed the victim at gunpoint shortly after 4 a.m. on January 3.

The deliveryman told police he went to deliver food to a home in the 5300-block of Winter Street when one of the men pointed a gun at him and stole his wallet, along with the food. The three suspects then ran to the victim's car and drove off in it.

Police found the stolen car parked on the side of the road in the 4700-block of Reed Street. Police saw two sets of footprints in the snow that led from the passenger side of the car to a home. Officers followed the tracks to the home and the homeowner then allowed them to search her house.

According to the probable cause, police found Washington and another man in the home. Police determined that the other man lived at the home, but Washington did not.

Officers also found a bag of food from Vito's, along with the victim's driver's license in the bottom of the bag.

The other man told police in an interview that Washington came to his house with a gun and asked him to hide it when police arrived.

Police said the shoes Washington was wearing matched the tread pattern in the snow which led from the stolen car to the home.

Police Arrest Man Behind Cluster Of Armed Robberies In Glen Burnie
January 11, 2014 11:34 PM

edmond-riggs1.jpg

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ) — There is finally relief for several small businesses in Glen Burnie after a sudden cluster of armed robberies left people shaken.

The suspect was caught by a combination of a cop’s instinct and a detective’s skill.

It was an image caught by surveillance cameras during a rash of armed robberies in November.

“Little businesses, carry-outs and gas stations,” said Lt. T.J. Smith, Anne Arundel County Police.

Most along Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. The first–at a Pizza Boli’s. Within days–four more.

“Scared. It’s really scary because us being right next door, he could have very well robbed us,” said Deidra Kelly.

“This wreaked havoc in that area, in that community, for our business owners leading right up to the Christmas holiday,” Smith said.

Police say 35-year-old Edmond Jarrod Riggs has been charged and jailed for those robberies. Here’s how:

A day after a woman encountered an armed robber in a parking lot, a cop on routine patrol saw a man sitting in a car. Something didn’t seem right, and the officer filed a field interview report after talking with the man. Once in the system:

“The district detective in our eastern district was able to take that information from November 10 and apply it to the November 9 citizen robbery and get charges on this person,” said Smith.

But before he could be found and arrested, more robberies were pulled.

Now in custody, Edmond Jarrod Riggs has been charged with 35 counts, including robbery, assault and handgun violations.
