Beachwood police arrest man accused in Beachwood Place Mall armed robbery

BEACHWOOD, Ohio — A Euclid man is facing first-degree felony charges stemming from an armed robbery outside the Beachwood Place Mall.

Police say they arrested Robert L. Martin, 22, who was charged with first-degree felony aggravated robbery in Shaker Heights Municipal Court. He is being held on $750,000 bond and is scheduled for an initial appearance on Tuesday.

Martin robbed a woman at gunpoint about 11 p.m. Dec. 23 outside Saks Fifth Avenue at the upscale mall.


Police say they arrested Martin Thursday at a hotel in Willoughby. Investigators say they were able to track Martin after he used the woman's ATM card. They released the man's photo and received several tips, police said.

Reports say Martin stole the woman's purse, passport, credit cards, driver's license and house keys.

Two men were arrested Saturday after police say they robbed a Carolina Payday Loans in Cayce.

Tyrone J. Longmire, 29, and Jeffrey Don Combest, 21, were confronted by officers a short distance from the store and one was taken into custody immediately and the other was arrested after a foot pursuit when he was found hiding in a dumpster

HANOVER, Md. (WJZ)—Anne Arundel County Police have arrested two men they believe are behind an armed robbery at the Maryland Live! Casino parking garage.

The alleged robbery happened Sunday around 7:45 a.m.

The 58-year-old victim told police he was asleep inside his vehicle while it was parked inside the garage. He thought he heard someone tampering with his vehicle, so he stepped out to investigate and noticed he had a flat rear tire.

He then saw two men approaching him—one of the men had a knife. The victim hurried to get back inside his vehicle.

The armed suspect reached through his window and held the knife to the victim’s throat. The second suspect stood in front of the vehicle. The victim briefly struggled with the suspect and as a result he sustained a minor cut to his hand. The victim eventually handed over his wallet, and both suspects fled the area.

It was later determined the victim’s tire had sustained a puncture causing the flat.

Through the use of electronic surveillance and the a photo array, police were able to track down the first suspect’s vehicle.

Kacy Domico Queen Jr., 22, was arrested at his Glen Burnie home around 3 p.m. Sunday. Demetrious Jamal Manar, 21, was arrested later that evening at his Laurel home.

Queen and Manar are charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, destruction of property and theft less than $1,000.

BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA) -- Montgomery County police have released surveillance video from an armed robbery on Christmas Eve at the Westfield Montgomery Mall.

Police say they are looking for a male and female suspect.

At approximately 2:05 p.m. on December 24, police responded to an armed robbery at the mall. A 71-year-old victim told police that she left the mall and was walking to her car in a parking garage next to Sears when she was robbed.

Police say the suspect, armed with a handgun, was walking close to the victim and grabbed her purse. He fled on foot.

The male suspect was described as dark-skinned with a thin build and wearing a dark-colored coat.

Within approximately two hours of the robbery, the victim's stolen credit cards and checkbook were used at stores in Lanham and College Park, officials said.

HANOVER -- Hanover County authorities have arrested a man wanted for a string of four armed robberies in six days at truck stops along Interstate 95 in the county.

Brian M. Braxton, 28, of the 15200 block of Concord Road in Caroline County, was arrested Saturday morning and charged with 13 felony counts. Lt. Chris R. Whitley of the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said investigators with the office found Braxton at a motel in Ashland near I-95 and took him into custody without incident.

Braxton, charged with four counts each of robbery and use of a firearm in a felony as well as five counts of abduction, was being held at Pamunkey Regional Jail pending arraignment in Hanover General District Court.

PEMBROKE PARK (CBSMiami) – Police are looking for two armed men who rushed into a pawn shop and forced employees and a customer into a back room while they rummaged the store for jewelry.

The armed robbers, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office, got away with cash and approximately $212,000 worth of jewelry from Lucky’s Pawn in Pembroke Park on December 28 around 7 p.m.

One thief, police say, carried a gun in a holster and another in his hand.

One of the armed men was dressed in all black, including black sneakers with white trim, gloves, sunglasses and a black baseball cap with a red lid and writing on the front. He went around the store and shoved two men and one woman into the room with the safe, forcing two of them on the ground.

Police said that in minutes the man grabbed cash and rings, bracelets, earrings, watches and necklaces with emeralds, diamonds and onyx. Also stolen from the store was a ring shaped like a cougar, another in the shape of a cross, a heart pendant with the word “love” and another that says “#1 Grandma.”

The thief’s armed accomplice, also dressed in black, kept watch while the whole thing unfolded.

Police release dashcam video of 130 mph car chase, crash

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. —

Police have released video of a high-speed car chase that ended in a crash in Douglas County.

Police told Channel 2 Action News three people robbed an AT&T store on Thornton Road Thursday. Police said they then began to pursue the suspects on Interstate 20., which reached speeds of 130 mph.

The dashcam video showed a patrol car executing a pit maneuver on the getaway car, causing the suspect's car to lose control and crash. The suspects were then seen running out of the car.

They were all captured a short time later off Tyson Road. Officers said they found cell phones, cash and duffel bags inside the getaway car.

The three suspects appeared in court via video conference Friday.

One arrested, another sought in Fayetteville robbery spree

Fayetteville, N.C. — One person was arrested Monday in connection with one of a string of armed robberies committed within four hours on Friday.

Malcolm Trevell Lamar Autry was arrested and charged with the robbery at the YaYa Food Mart on Murchison Road. He faces robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and larceny of a motor vehicle charges.

Investigators are still searching for Corey Lamont McMillan, 20, in connection with the same incident. He is also wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Red Zone Sports Bar in November.

Authorities said McMillan should be considered armed and dangerous.

The YaYa Food Mart robbery was one of four that occurred within a few hours on Friday. The first was at Slow Joe Customs at 539 Bragg Blvd. on Jan. 10 at around 8:47 p.m. The suspects entered through an open garage bay door and demanded money from employees. One suspect was armed with a handgun, police said. An employee escaped through a rear door and nothing was taken from the business.

Just over an hour later, a person was robbed in the parking lot of the YaYa Food Mart at 3122 Murchison Rd. at approximately 10:05 p.m. Two suspects approached the victim in his vehicle and demanded money. One suspect used a handgun to strike the victim in the head, police said. The victim fled from the parking lot and the suspects stole his 1993 yellow Chevrolet Caprice. The vehicle was later recovered on the 2500 block of Murchison Rd. The suspects were gone when officers arrived.

About 12 minutes later, a man was robbed in the parking lot of the Cumberland Food Mart at 431 Cumberland St. Two suspects approached the man and forced him to the ground. While one suspect held the victim at gunpoint, the other took money from his pants and searched his vehicle, police said.

The final incident happened at approximately 1:13 a.m. at the Kangaroo Convenience Store at 1135 Pamalee Dr. Two suspects approached a man in the parking lot and demanded money. The victim fled from the suspects without surrendering any property.

Investigators did not tie the two men to the other robberies, only saying they were considered suspects in additional robberies and more charges may be forthcoming.

Pizza Hut Customers Robbed During Dinner by Melissa Moon

(Memphis) Three men are behind bars accused of robbing a Pizza Hut and customers inside.

It happened Monday afternoon at the Pizza Hut on Winchester across from the Hickory Ridge Mall.

Police say LaCarlton Stone, 22, entered the business with a handgun, took money from the cash register, robbed an employee and then turned his weapon on three customers sitting at a table.

“It appeared to be a mother and two daughters and both daughters were pregnant
and expecting children. So that’s who he chose to rob at gunpoint as well,” said Fred.

A man who only wanted to be identified as ‘Fred’ said he walked into the Pizza Hut in the middle of the robbery and ran out after Stone pointed a gun at him and told him to leave.

“I thought ‘this man is crazy.’ That’s why I ran out. It was kind of
surreal you know, it didn’t really register until after I ran out,” said Fred.

Fred says he ran to church parking lot and called police.

When police got there, witnesses told them they saw Stone get into a getaway car with two other men at the McDonald’s across the street.

Police stopped the car a few miles away, and along with Stone, arrested Tavarious Shipp, 19, and Jeffrey Summers, 18.

They say all three admitted to planning the robbery.

Stone is charged with aggravated assault and robbery.

Shipp and Summers are both facing three counts of aggravated robbery.

Man loses appeal in armed robbery case

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Monroe County man has lost an attempt to gain a petition for post-conviction relief.

James Beeks, 43, is serving 20 years in prison for a 1999 armed robbery in Monroe County.

He filed a motion for relief in 2011 claiming his plea was involuntary and his attorney was ineffective in his defense.

The motion was dismissed by a trial judge and he waited nearly 40 days to file an appeal.

The Mississippi Court of Appeals says Beeks waited to late to file an appeal to the judge's ruling on the motion. :nya:

Elba Man Arrested in Andalusia Armed Robbery

ANDALUSIA, AL - An Elba man has been charged with an armed robbery outside a bank in Andalusia.

34-year-old Gregory James Goldsmith is accused of taking a deposit bag from two store clerks at gunpoint.

A police dog tracked the suspect to a residence.
Police found the deposit bag on the roof of the home where Goldsmith was arrested.

Goldsmith is being held in the Covington County Jail under a $250,000 bond.

Nashville armed robbery suspect arrested in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -
A man wanted in Nashville for the armed robbery of a pizza delivery man last month was arrested Wednesday morning in Chattanooga.

Marcus Banes, 18, was staying in Chattanooga with a friend and taken into custody without incident.

Banes will be returned to Nashville to face charges for the December 5 robbery of a pizza delivery man.

Banes and an unidentified accomplice stole the victim's wallet and cell phone before driving off in his car.

Police arrest man wanted in Harris Blvd convenience store robbery

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police in Charlotte have arrested a man they say robbed a convenience off of Harris Boulevard Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported early Wednesday morning at the 7-Eleven at Reames Road and West WT Harris Boulevard, according to the news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Andonus Purvis, 38, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The store clerk told police that a black male suspect entered the store and demanded property. Purvis took the property and left the store on foot.

Shortly after a detailed description of the suspect was broadcast across police radios, an officer saw a person matching the description, later identified as Andonus Purvis.

The officer detained Purvis.

After being positively identified as the suspect, Purvis was placed under arrest without incident.

Officers also located the property belonging to the business on Purvis.

He remains in custody at the Mecklenburg County Jail.

Victim says people forced way into home, fired bullet into wall by Laurel Mallory

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two people forcefully entered a home and took property from those who live there at gunpoint.

On December 17, a woman called police saying her family had been threatened and her home had been robbed.

According to an arrest warrant, Tymarius Malone, 19, along with an unknown co-defendant, forced their way into a home at gunpoint while a woman, her four-year-old grandchild and her 82-year-old father were at home.

The victim told police Malone pointed a gun at her family and then fired one bullet into the living room wall.

The two suspects made off with property including an iPad, Samsung Galaxy phone and Android HTC, which police valued at $1,400.

Malone was arrested on January 15 at 3:25 a.m. in south Louisville.

He faces charges of first degree robbery and first degree wanton endangerment.

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are trying to track down two men they believe are behind an armed robbery and carjacking in the Seventh Ward.

It happened Dec. 8 in the 1600 block of N. Galvez. These are sketches of the suspects.

The victim says she was sitting in her car when one of the suspects walked up and opened fire into the vehicle.

The victim jumped out of the car and that’s when the suspect got in and drove away, but stopped just a few feet away and picked up the second suspect, who was acting as a lookout.

Kinston man arrested in connection with restaurant robberies

Kinston, N.C. — A Kinston man was arrested Wednesday in connection with two Sunday robberies at restaurants on North Heritage Street and U.S. Highway 70 East.

Bobby Ray Jackson, 22, is charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of conspiracy and one count of second-degree kidnapping.

According to investigators, Jackson robbed the Wok-N-Roll and King's on Sunday. He turned himself in at about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Jackson was in the Lenoir County jail Thursday under a $750,000 secured bond.

3 men convicted of armed robbery

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
A jury found three men guilty of two armed robberies that occurred on May 21, 2013 at and around Forsyth Park.

Devante Tyrell Bynes, 21, was convicted of two counts of armed robbery and harming a police dog. Devon Manuel Tarver, 23, was found guilty of two counts of armed robbery and Josephewa Sonny Ramsey, 28, was convicted of two counts of armed robbery and obstruction, according to a news release from the Chatham County District Attorney's Office.

On May 21, 2013, Det. William Bailey, of the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Dept.'s Robbery Unit, was patrolling around Forsyth Park as part of an operation to deter armed robberies in the area. At about midnight, he saw three men surround another man. Bynes, Tarver and Ramsey ran when they saw Bailey. Bailey ran after them and Ramsey was taken into custody.

A K9 Unit tracked down Tarver and Bynes minutes later hiding on East Park Avenue and they were taken into custody. A K9 was injured in the struggle while Bynes was arrested. An investigation by police determined had items belonging to two men who had been robbed at gunpoint, in separate instances, earlier that evening, according to the district attorney's office. I hope the dog recovered, knowha'm'say'n.

Police arrest man wanted in east Charlotte video game store robbery

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police in Charlotte say they have arrested the man wanted in a video game store robbery on Wednesday morning.

Stanley Mlevin Mitchell, 30, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to a news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On Wednesday, Jan. 15 at approximately 10:20 a.m., police say Mitchell entered the Gamestop located at 1824 Galleria Boulevard, according to the news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

He pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded money from the register.

After obtaining the money, Mitchell fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

Police responded to a domestic violence at a home on Carmenet Lane. Officers discovered that Mithcell was at the residence and was responsible for the robbery at Game Stop.

Man in custody for Oxford armed robbery

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Oxford Police Department says a Charleston man is in custody in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday.

Earlier in the week, authorities asked the public for help in locating the suspect who robbed a Baptist Memorial Hospital employee at gunpoint in the hospital parking garage.

On Wednesday, the police department arrested ShunKeith Brewer, 23, for the crime.

Police said no one was injured during the robbery.

Brewer's bond has been set at $15,000.
