Two New Orleans men have been arrested and booked in connection with an armed robbery in the French Quarter during the weekend, court documents show.
Jonas Williams, 19, and Jory Adams, 24, were booked Sunday (Jan. 19) on armed robbery charges sprouting from a crime that occurred in the 1000 block of Toulouse Street earlier that morning.
A 26-year-old man who was sitting across the street from the Maison Dupuy hotel about 4:55 a.m. with another man and a woman saw a group of men walking on Toulouse Street toward North Rampart Street, police said.
One of the men pulled out a pistol and struck the woman in the face; another man in the group threw the other man to the ground and began to kick him repeatedly, according to an NOPD report. The man with the pistol then pointed the gun at the 26-year-old man's chest and demanded his wallet and cell phone, according to police. He gave the man his wallet, his cellphone and his passport.
