In the span of 76 days, police say the same woman hit seven banks in Colorado Springs.

But she won't be adding to that list: police announced Wednesday that the suspect has been caught.

The suspect was able to rob five banks, officers said, and attempted to rob two others. Each time, the suspect wore a scarf over her head--earning her the nickname "Scarf Girl Note Bandit"--with large gold-framed sunglasses obscuring much of her face.

The suspect allegedly robbed two banks on Sept. 11, was quiet for a few weeks, then struck again on Oct. 5. A fourth bank was hit on Oct. 20, then three in November, including two this week. (The full list of dates and locations can be viewed on the side of this page, or below the article if you are looking at this story on a mobile device.)

Police obtained surveillance stills of the suspect from some of the banks, and also caught her car on camera. The latter image was what led officers to the 27-year-old suspect on Dec. 3. Detectives with CSPD's gang and drug units spotted the car in the area of Constitution and Powers. Though driven by a man, police found that the registered owner matched the suspect description. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the vehicle owner's home, and say they found evidence linking her to the rash of robberies.

The suspect has been identified as Tara Freeman. She faces five counts of robbery and two counts of attempted robbery.

Delaware State Police have charged a teller and her fiancé with staging the robbery of the bank where she works.

On Nov. 23, a man approached the teller at a Wells Fargo Bank in Newark and demanded money, troopers said Thursday in a news release.

Police say the teller gave the man money, even though he did not display a weapon or imply that he was armed.

Investigators say after getting a description of a getaway car, they were able to identify a suspect and learned that he is engaged to the teller.

Thirty-year-old Toron Crocker and 26-year-old Christina Johnson, both of New Castle, where arrested without incident. They are both charged with felony theft, conspiracy and other offenses.

YORKTOWN - Police say they have nabbed a bank robber who made off with cash from the Putnam County Savings Bank on Lee Road in September.

Kerry Vanterpool, a 25-year-old Bronx resident, was arrested Tuesday at the Dutchess County jail — where he was held after being arrested in another bank robbery. Yorktown police charged him with second-degree robbery, a felony.

Yorktown police said Vanterpool and an accomplice, wearing hooded jackets, hats and sunglasses, executed robbery, demanding the tellers at Putnam County Savings Bank put money into plastic bags. They then fled on foot, police said. Police have not said how much was stolen.

Then, Sept. 22 Vanterpool and two other men, 23-year-old Rascarmi Gallimore and 25-year-old Jeffrey Geronimo, both of the Bronx, ordered customers at the Chase Bank in LaGrange to get on the floor and demanded money, state police said. They took an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a Dodge Charger with Virginia plates, police said.

Police are searching for a robber who hit up seven Manhattan banks, netting more than $11,000.

The one-man crime spree started Aug. 8, when the suspect entered the Santander Bank at 2275 Broadway on the Upper West Side at about 4:30 p.m.. He approached a teller and demanded money, according to police. The teller complied. and the suspect made off with an unknown quantity of cash.

The crook’s next target was the Santander Bank at 1350 Broadway in Midtown, where he passed a note to a teller demanding money Aug. 21 at 4:45 p.m., cops said. That time he got away with $2,200.

On Sept.11, the same crook is believed to have attempted to rob the Wells Fargo bank at 2330 Broadway, fewer than three blocks from the scene of the first heist. He left the Wells Fargo empty-handed — but immediately returned to the Santander he had robbed the month before and made off with $1,791.

After that incident, the note-passing perp struck three other Santander locations, getting away with: $4,505 from 330 Madison Ave. on Nov. 19; $1,059 from 250 Lexington Avenue on Dec. 22, and $2,700 from 1290 Avenue of the Americas on Thursday, according to cops. All the robberies happened in the late afternoon.

The FBI and NYPD are asking for the public's help to nab this bank robbing duo.

What’s unusual about these serial bank bandits is just how normal they look.

That’s what the FBI and NYPD said today in asking for the public’s help to nab the duo, who wear little to no disguises — have been caught ion several surveillance videos and stills — and yet still haven’t been caught.

The man in the dangerous duo has been dubbed “The Americas Bandit” for hitting up six banks since last September, including three along the Avenue of the Americas.

He wears sunglasses and maybe a hat — and that is all. His last two heists were done with a gal pal who wears no disguise at all.

Lately, the Americas Bandit has been brandishing a gun at his jobs, which has law enforcement worried.

“We believe it’s going to happen again,” added NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce.

“It looks like he is ramping up his violence,” the FBI Special Agent in Charge of the criminal division, Michael Harpster.

All of the jobs have taken place in lower Manhattan, including Chase banks in the West Village, a Bank of America in the Flatiron District and a NorthEast Community bank in Chelsea.

The brazen bandits were both described as black and in their 50s. Despite their skill at evading law enforcement, they have only pocketed measly $9,500 in their heists, law enforcement said.

Still, the feds are worried enough about the potential for violence that the FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information that will lead to an arrest. The NYPD is chipping in $2,500.

Thief looks like a lady!

Cops are on the hunt for a cross-dressing bank robber who knocked over a Santander on Staten Island this week.

The man was donning a silver and black formal dress, silver high heels, a black hat and sunglasses when he waltzed into a branch located at 81 Water Street on July 25 and brandished a silver pistol.

Surveillance footage shows the phony female chatting with the teller before making off with the cash.

After leaving, cops said the man zipped on over to a nearby store — where he was caught on video pulling off the skirt. He is then seen moments later wearing plaid shorts, blue and white Nike Jordan sneakers and no shirt.

While he had no visible tattoos or piercings, the man may have scarring around his mouth, police said.

He’s believed to be armed and dangerous.

A cross-dressing man who donned a dress and brassiere during a Staten Island bank robbery admitted that he was armed during the alleged crime – but with a “water gun,” new court papers show.

Jordan Wise, 24, allegedly told feds he used the toy to hold up Santander Bank in Stapleton last Monday — while wearing a long black-and-white dress, silver heels, sunglasses, bra and sequined hat, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday in Brooklyn federal court.

Wise turned himself in Sunday after cops released surveillance video of him making off with $780 in cash while bizarrely dressed in women’s garb.

He’s accused of ditching the clothes in a bag after changing at a nearby bodega into a more comfortable outfit – plaid shorts, blue and white Nike Jordan sneakers and no shirt.

The complaint says Wise brandished a silver handgun as he told the teller, “Give me the money. Put it in a bag. Hurry up.”

He was held without bail Monday following a brief court appearance.

Cops are searching for this suspect.

A grinning bandit stole about $26,000 from business accounts at various TD Banks in Manhattan during a three-day span, authorities said Tuesday.

In each of the September incidents, the suspect walked up to the counter, presented a fake identification card and talked the unsuspecting teller into handing over the money.

She first strolled into the TD Bank on Sixth Avenue around 2:45 p.m. Sept. 26 and walked out with $8,500. She hit two other TD branches that same day, including one on Second Avenue and another on Canal Street, stealing a total of $9,500.

The next day, she hit two more locations, one on Fulton Street and one on Grand Street, where she made off with another total $8,000.

On Sept. 28, she returned to the first bank she stole from on Sixth Avenue but was refused money by a suspicious employee, police said.

She is described as having long straight brown hair  and was last seen wearing a blue jacket and eyeglasses.
